Fire doors
Fire-rated doors should never be considered an extra. On the contrary, fire protection should be viewed as a valuable safeguard and a way to win time in the event of a disaster. Greater personal protection in schools, department stores, restaurants, entertainment premises and other environments where people gather, and where fire and smoke can have serious consequences. Nor is fire safety optional in public environments, either; rather, it is a requirement set by public authorities, surrounded by safety regulations.
The fire door is often an essential part of a building’s perimeter security. In order to limit the effects of fire, doors and other openings must comply with the same high safety requirements as the fire cell compartment limit – walls, ceilings, flooring – in which they are mounted. Robust doors are built to meet all of these requirements.
